Mindfulness Training 

The mindfulness skills taught are shown to be highly effective in reducing stress and enhancing well-being.

People who have completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Relief course (MBSR) report that as a result of using mindfulness they:

  • Find new and effective ways of managing their stress
  • Learn to handle their thoughts, moods and emotions more effectively
  • Are better able to deal with physical, mental, social and emotional issues
  • Live their lives more fully

 

Elizabeth Barr is an experienced teacher of mindfulness. Elizabeth has been trained by Professor Mark Williams of Oxford Mindfulness Centre and continued her studies at Bangor University to Level 2. She has considerable experience of working either with groups in or out of a workplace as well as working 1:1 and as a trained counsellor. Elizabeth has been in education for over 30 years.  

 

Elizabeth no longer runs groups however offers 1:1 teaching in her private therapy room at Market Harbough.  Typically a course of mindfulness sessions would number between 6-8. You are welcome to ring for a chat if it is something you are considering learning before booking a session.

 

Elizabeth meets the requirement of the Good Practice for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses published by UK Network of Mindfulness-Based Trainers.
